2008 has kicked off with real vigour, with three super evening gatherings, the most recent of which was the Pony Drive at Pamphill, kindly organised by Ann James and Wendy Richards.

Our two earlier meetings were both at Bere Regis Sports Club, where in January over 40 of us enjoyed a slide show kindly presented by Carol Cuff and Sue Prust. In February we welcomed Caroline Douglas for a talk, which was intended to look at both feeding and fittening of the harness horse. In fact, we only got to cover the feeding bit - Caroline's unique practical demonstration involving long hoses, clockwork teeth and a volunteer in a black bin bag, etc. took rather longer than intended - ask anyone of the 50 or so people present if you weren't able to attend, and they will be able to tell you more!  Hence, as you will see on Forthcoming Events, we have scheduled a return visit for Caroline on 17th April, for Part 11 of the talk. This promises to be yet another entertaining and informative evening. If you missed Part 1, be sure not to make the same mistake again!

Much as I was happy to be a rank and file member for a couple of years while Nicky Simpson held the AC's reins, it is good to be back in the 'hot seat' and thank you to all of you who have been in touch. Some of the help and support offered has already been taken up and as a result we have a wide range of events planned for the coming months. Remember, you don't have to have your own driving turnout on the road to come along and enjoy these activities - there is always the opportunity to come on foot and get involved.
Hope to see you soon
.
